A little card. A little courage. A new connection.

HeyU! is a personal card you give to someone you'd like to meet — they scan it, and you both choose whether to connect.

I would like to get to know you.

Hey U! Yes, you! Is this our meet-cute?

How it started

“I wish making the first move felt less scary.”

After eight years in a relationship, I found myself navigating dating again. In three years of being single, I tried countless dating apps, social events and speed dating. But what I kept missing was that real-life spark — the kind of meet-cute I’d want to tell my friends about.

Sometimes, the opportunity was right there — I just couldn’t quite make the move. Someone I’d see on my commute or sunbathing at the lake. Even at events designed to bring people together, opportunities slipped by. Someone catches your eye just before you leave. You never quite get a chance to talk. And afterwards, you wonder what might have happened if you had.

And then I met a man at a wine tasting event who I couldn’t stop thinking about afterwards. Asking for his number felt like a bigger step than I wanted it to be. Was he single? Interested? The thought of seeming pushy or being turned down face to face made me hesitate.

And sharing my number or Instagram felt like letting someone into my life before I’d even got to know them. I wanted to show a little interest, while keeping a little mystery — and my personal details to myself.

I wished I could simply have said, “Hey you, I really enjoyed talking to you. Here’s my card.” No need to ask for his details or put him on the spot. Just a little sign of interest, leaving him free to make his own move.

That’s where HeyU! started: a little card to turn “I wish I’d said something” into “Maybe this could be something.”

  • A personal card to give someone you’d like to date.
  • They scan your QR code to explore your profile and send an introduction.
  • You choose whether to accept. A private chat opens when you do.

Four ways to use the card

Your move, your style.

01

Say "Hey You!", then go.

Hand over your card with a smile. A little first move, without waiting for an answer.

02

Leave a little surprise.

On their gym towel, beside their beach towel, or on their café or train table — leave a little sign of interest without interrupting what they’re doing.

03

Keep a good conversation going.

Enjoyed talking? Give them your card instead of asking for their number. They can choose to get in touch, without feeling obliged to share their details just to be polite.

04

Let a friend play matchmaker.

Ask someone you trust to make a thoughtful introduction.

Why accept a request if you already gave them your card?

A card might be found by someone else, passed along, or shared by a matchmaking friend. You review who’s reaching out and choose whether to accept before a private chat opens.

Your first conversation stays within HeyU! — sharing your phone number or Instagram can come later, if you choose.

About Me

Hi, I'm Céline.

Psychotherapist by profession, professional overthinker by nature, and aspiring empire builder.

I have a habit of noticing things in everyday life and thinking, "Wait, why do we do it this way? Surely there's a better solution?"

This has resulted in a folder containing about four startup ideas, ambitious plans for my own research foundation, and a rather modestly named future empire: Cadaperium (name pending😂).

Most of my ideas revolve around human behaviour, challenging social norms, and making life a little easier, more connected, or simply more fun.

HeyU! is my first adventure into the startup world. I bring the psychology, the creativity, the curiosity, and plenty of enthusiasm. The tech expertise? The marketing expertise? Still assembling that part of the empire. 😂

I'm here to meet creative minds, tech people, fellow problem-solvers, and anyone who enjoys asking:

"What if we did things differently?"

Let's connect. Worst case, we have a great conversation. Best case, you become part of Cadaperium! 😉

Curious? Let's talk.
